It's time for the 12th Annual Beers and Ears Party. This years event will be held on Saturday August 7th. We'll have great music, great food, and great auction items.

I'm happy to announce that the benefit for this year's event will be a joint benefit for Boys and Girls Home and Family Services of Sioux City and Children's Home Society of Sioux Falls

Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc. is a non-profit, human service agency that has cared for children and families for over 116 years. Originally started as an orphanage for homeless children, the agency has evolved into a treatment facility for children and families struggling with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric issues. In addition the facility offers a range of services for young children including a child care and preschool program.

The Children's Home Society (CHS) provides a home, school, and therapy for children, primarily ages 4-13, with emotional and behavioral problems.  The majority of children have a history of abuse and neglect.  Foster care and adoption services are provided for children who are unable to return to their birth families.  CHS also provides emergency shelter services and counseling for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. 

Although we may not adhere to this time schedule, here is a general timeline of party events:

4:30pm - Happy Hour
5:30pm - Dinner is served
6:30pm - Auction

This year's menu includes:

Sweet Corn
Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Pickles
Beans
Salad
Soft Serve Ice Cream
1919 Root Beer
Beer

The cost for the event is $15 per person (children's meals are $5) which includes a meal of a pulled pork sandwich, "all you can eat" sweet corn and various side dishes. The meal will begin at 5:30 PM. Beverages include beer and non-alcoholic choices. Items have been donated by various individuals and businesses for a live auction which will begin at the conclusion of the meal.

The commemorative Beers 'n Ears t-shirts are available for $15 each ($17 for 2XL and 3XL) or you can purchase a combo meal/shirt ticket for $25. Please place your t-shirt orders by email or phone by July 10th. If you are interested in donating an item for the auction, please call in advance of the event.  Paypal is available for orders as well.  Will ship for actual charges.
